Applications of 3D Modelling

Applications of 3D Modelling 3D modelling is used in a wide range of things for example a 3D video game which is what we’re currently making ours for, they can be used in architecture when you design the building, you’ll need to make 3D models for that building so you can see that it will look like before it’s built. It can also be used in Advertising and marketing it helps advertisers depict their products in the ideal state. Geology and Science could also use 3d modelling to create models that simulate earthquakes and landforms this allows them to see the effect of them. 3D model history The first 3d models were created in the 1960’s.  Back then, only those professionals in the field of computer engineering and automation who worked with mathematical models and data analysis were involved in  3D modelling. The first 3D game was released in 1981 it was called 3D monster maze.

Geometric Theory, Mesh construction & Constraints

Geometric Theory, Mesh construction & Constraints Polygons Polygons are how many different sections are on your model and it shows it liked this on your model the less polys you have the easier it is to load up and unwrap your model as there’s less sections to it. Vertices Vertices are the corners on the edges of your shape like here for example you can adjust these corners by dragging the edges to make your model a different shape and larger. Extrusion Modelling Primitives Primitives are the default models that you can then use to modify it to change the shape the main primitives are shown in the image on the right the main ones are sphere, cube, cone and cylinder. So if for example you wanted to make a bottle the cylinder will probably be the best one to use to start with before you start editing it as that's the closest shape to a bottle out of all of them. Edges Edges are like the vertices but the whole edge of model is conside...

3D software

3D software 3DS Max 3DS Max is one of the 3d software’s that you can use to create 3d models it can be used to make 3D animations, models, games and images and is the one we’re currently using. It must also be used on a Microsoft Windows platform, It is frequently used by many video game developers, tv commercial studios and architectural visualization studios. So it's used across a range of 3D related jobs. ZBrush ZBrush is a digital sculpting tool that combines 3D and 2.5D modelling, texturing and painting. ZBrush is used in films for creature creation as well as in medical animation because of its ease of creation. ZBrush is used for creating high-resolution models able to reach 40 million+ polygons for use in movies, games and animations. Unreal Engine The Unreal Game engine is the game engine created by Epic Games, first showcased in the 1998 first-person shooter Unreal. It was originally created to make first-person shooters but has been used and succ...

3D diorama

Crate This is the model i have created for a crate to do this i had to first make a cube shape, with all the sides the same size and to make it look more realistic i had to extrude the faces so it gives it more of a realistic crate shape and then i smoothed the edges so it doesn't look like a box  shape and looks more like a crate. UV Unwrap This is the start of my crate UV Unwrap in Photoshop i'll need to add the textures to it and then put that back on 3ds Max. Barrel This is the barrel model i created to do this i had to first get a cylinder shape and then shape it so it looks more like a barrel and then i pulled the sides so it has more of a curve shape so it looks ...
